Why noissue is Leading the Way in Compostable Packaging

There’s nothing quite as frustrating as opening up a long-awaited package in the mail, only to see an outpour of bubble wrap, plastic poly bags, and a mailer that has to be trashed. Placing an order with a sustainable or ethical brand doesn’t guarantee eco-friendly packaging, which can seem at odds with the company’s mission.

As a brand, compostable packaging can seem like an added expense that might not be necessary, however, in a climate of changing behaviours and desires, compostable packaging is actually part of the experience that your consumers are beginning to expect from a brand, regardless of whether the brand markets themselves as sustainable or not.

noissue is a leader in sustainable packaging, and with their recent launch of compostable mailers, they are targeting everyone from eco-friendly brands to mainstream, reminding us that no matter your service or product, the growing demand for transparency, concern for the environment, and complete alignment of values, means that as a retailer, incorporating a sustainability mission within your framework is becoming a necessity, and truly the only way forward.

Here is how noissue is leading the way in compostable packaging:

_____

Corn-Based:

Their new line of compostable mailers is made from a plant-based material: corn. Because they are made from plants, these mailers are 100% compostable and will break down in a matter of just 6 months, as opposed to a plastic bag which can take up to 400 years to break down. These mailers are strong and durable, so they can be reused over and over again, before they are sent off to decompose. And unlike many compostable products that require industrial facilities to decompose, these mailers can be composted in your regular home compost (they’ll naturally breakdown in your garden too), making it super easy and convenient for anyone who uses them.

_____

No Compromising on Quality:

Despite what some opinions are on plant-based products, these mailers perform just as well (we think even better!), then traditional non-compostable mailers. These mailers are waterproof, writable, printable, stickable, durable, and stretchable. noissue also provides customizable options, so you can brand your mailers and tissue paper to fit with your aesthetic easily, for a seamless transition.

_____

FSC Certified and Acid-Free Paper:

“FSC” stands for Forest Stewardship Council, an organization that works to promote the practice of sustainable forestry worldwide. The Council ensures customers have the option to choose forest products like paper and wood that have been sourced in a socially-responsibly, environmentally-friendly, and economically viable manner.

noissue tissue paper is also acid-free, meaning it is paper that is infused in water, which yields a neutral or basic pH (7 or slightly higher). It is also lignin and sulfur-free.

Being FSC Certified and acid-free, gives piece of mind when choosing to elevate your packaging with what can otherwise be seen as wasteful or harmful paper.

_____

Products That are Attainable:

With a belief that sustainable packaging doesn’t have to be unattainable, noissue is on a mission to provide the option of environmentally-conscious packaging to everyone. There seems to be a widespread belief that eco-conscious options are hard to get while being excessively expensive. While this can be true, there are brands that are working hard to make conscious options available, both easily and affordably. noissue provides eco packaging without compromising on quality or style, and in our opinion, they’re way cuter than the leading mailer bags you find at the post office!

_____

Soy-Based Inks:

While most of us just think about the material of the packaging, we forget about the ink. Chemical inks are incredibly toxic, both in production and after, as they can leach into the earth and waterways. Soy-based inks are made from soybeans, instead of petroleum like traditional inks. Soy-based ink is more environmentally friendly, can provide more accurate colours, makes it much easier to recycle paper, and provides worry-free composting.

_____

Eco-Packaging Alliance:

noissue has created their own alliance, one that contributes to global reforestation. As a packaging company, providing eco alternatives is only half of the way towards sustainability, as giving back and replenishing the earth matters greatly as well. noissue’s Eco-Packaging Alliance plants trees in areas of need for every order made, ensuring sustainability on all fronts of the business. Instead of just taking from the earth, we have a responsibility to restore and repair in our wake, ensuring that future generations will thrive. noissue has planted over 2800 trees since their launch of the Eco-Packaging Alliance 8 months ago!

_____

Whether you are a brand or a consumer, demand eco-packaging. Sustainability is truly the only way forward, so become rigorous in the quality that you expect. noissue checks all of our boxes, or rather, all of our mailers!
